How filing with TAXFORT works
01
Gather your documents
W-2s, 1099s, photo ID, and last year’s return if you have it. Missing something? Bring what you have — we’ll find the rest together.
02
Meet your preparer
Sit down at any of our three offices, drop your documents off, or meet by phone or video from anywhere — English o español.
03
We prepare, you approve
Your preparer builds the return, checks every credit, and walks you through it line by line. Nothing is filed until you say so.
04
E-file & get your refund
We e-file federal and state with the IRS. Choose direct deposit usually the fastest way or a mailed check, then track it as it moves.

Frequently Asked Questions
It depends on the forms your situation needs, so we quote before we start. The consultation is free and the price is agreed up front — no surprises at signing.
Walk-ins are welcome at all three offices, but booking guarantees your time — especially February through April.
Yes, two ways: drop your documents at any office and we handle the rest, or upload them to our secure portal and file 100% online from anywhere in the 50 states. Either way, you review the return with your preparer before anything is filed.
For most people the federal deadline is April 15 — when it lands on a weekend or holiday, it moves to the next business day. Need more time? We can file an extension, which gives you until mid-October to file, though any tax owed is still due in April.
Bring what you have. We’ll tell you exactly what’s missing and how to get it — many documents, like wage transcripts, can be requested from the IRS.
An ITIN is a tax ID number for people who need to file but aren’t eligible for a Social Security number. If that’s you — or your ITIN has expired — we prepare the application or renewal right along with your return.
Often yes, but it depends on IRS tests — the relationship, where they lived during the year, and who supported them. Bring their information to your appointment and we’ll check exactly who qualifies before anything is filed.
Maybe not — but filing can still pay. If taxes were withheld from any paycheck, or you qualify for refundable credits, the only way to get that money back is to file. We’ll tell you honestly whether a return is worth it.
Yes. We e-file federal and state returns, for Florida clients and for clients in any of the 50 states.
Most e-filed returns with direct deposit are paid by the IRS within about 21 days. One exception is set by law: refunds claiming the Earned Income Tax Credit or Additional Child Tax Credit can’t be released until mid-February, no matter who prepares the return.
Yes. We prepare past-year returns, get you caught up, and help you back into good standing with the IRS — judgment-free. Bring whatever records you have and we’ll help reconstruct the rest.
File anyway — the penalty for not filing is much bigger than the penalty for not paying. Then we’ll walk you through the options, like IRS payment plans, so the balance gets handled without the panic.
Sí. Every office has bilingual preparers, every day — your whole return, explained in the language you think in.
